Press Release

The Mark Moore Gallery is proud to present Todd Hebert in his first

Los Angeles solo exhibition. Hebert grew up in North Dakota and is an MFA graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. He lives and works in Houston, Texas and has shown extensively through out the Southwest.

Hebert’s work is a Midwestern lexicon: scarecrows, loose baseballs, piles of leaves, snowmen and watermelons. The images are mysteriously odd - a kind of suburban symbolism meets the allegories of the seasons (and it is definitely not Hallmark in sensibility). For Hebert, the cycle of nature is really the cycle of seasonal artifacts and holiday dramas. His paintings are peculiar, minimal narratives on the passing of time.
